Galboda Falls belongs to the railway: the 30-metre cascade hides in the jungled hills near Galboda station on the Nawalapitiya–Hatton climb, a stop that road maps barely acknowledge - which is precisely the charm. The classic approach is the hill line itself: ride to Galboda's flower-decked platform (station masters here have won garden prizes), then follow the path fifteen minutes through tea and forest to where the fall pours into its boulder pool, often with no company but estate children and birdsong. Rail enthusiasts extend the walk along the track - tunnels, viaducts, and tea views in both directions - toward Watawala or Nawalapitiya. It is the least engineered waterfall excursion in the hills: no ticket office, no viewing deck, just a train, a path, and cold white water at the end. After rain the fall doubles and the pool clouds - swim only in gentle flow.
