Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Srilankan Guide ("we", "us", "our"), a travel planning service based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. By using our website, creating an account or buying an itinerary, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the service, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live. If you're planning a trip for other people, you're responsible for what you share with us about them. You agree to give accurate information when you register and when you plan a trip.

You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google or Facebook. Keep your password private. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, so tell us at hi.srilankanguide@gmail.com if you think someone else is using it. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

You answer questions about your trip, and our AI writes a day-by-day itinerary based on your answers. You can generate as many previews as you like, free of charge. A preview shows the first 2 days of the plan in full.

To see the complete itinerary, along with the packing tips, food guide, hidden gems and PDF download, you pay a one-time fee to unlock that itinerary. Unlocking applies to one specific itinerary. If you generate a new one, it needs its own unlock.

Unlocking a full itinerary costs $5 USD, as a one-time payment per itinerary. Payments are handled by PayPal, which accepts PayPal balances and major credit and debit cards. We never receive or store your card details. See our Pricing page for what's included.

Prices are in US dollars. Your bank or card issuer may add currency conversion or foreign transaction fees, which we don't control. We may change our prices at any time, but a change never affects an itinerary you've already paid for.

Because your itinerary is delivered digitally and instantly, payments are generally final. If a technical error on our side stops your itinerary from being generated, we'll refund you in full. Email hi.srilankanguide@gmail.com and we'll sort it out. We don't refund an itinerary because you changed your mind about the trip or didn't like the AI's suggestions, which is why we let you preview the first 2 days before paying.

This is the most important section, so please read it. Your itineraries are written by AI, and AI makes mistakes. Details such as opening hours, ticket prices, travel times, road conditions, hotel names and seasonal closures can be wrong or out of date. Treat every itinerary as a suggestion to check, not a confirmed plan.

We are not a travel agency or tour operator. We don't book flights, hotels, transport, tickets or guides for you, and we have no arrangement with any place we suggest. Before you travel, you are responsible for confirming:

• Bookings, prices and availability, directly with each provider
• Visa and entry requirements for your nationality
• Health, vaccination and insurance requirements
• Current safety, weather and travel advisories for the areas you'll visit
• Local laws and customs, including at religious and cultural sites

You travel at your own risk, and your travel decisions are your own. Because the AI writes each plan fresh, two people giving the same answers may get different itineraries, and we can't guarantee a specific result.

When using Srilankan Guide, you agree not to:

• Resell, republish or redistribute itineraries or site content commercially
• Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site, or use bots to generate itineraries
• Try to bypass payment, access other people's trips, or break into any part of the service
• Overload or disrupt the service, or interfere with other users
• Reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product
• Submit unlawful, abusive or misleading content, or anyone else's personal information without their permission
• Use the service for anything illegal under Sri Lankan law or the laws that apply to you

Once you've paid for an itinerary, it's yours to use for your own travel. Share it with the people you're travelling with, print it, and take it with you. What you can't do is sell it or publish it as a commercial product.

Everything else on the site, including the Srilankan Guide name and logo, our destination guides, travel journal, collections and design, belongs to us and is protected by copyright. Destination photography is used under Creative Commons and similar free licenses, with attribution on our Image Credits page. Those images stay under their original licenses.

We rely on other companies to run the service, including PayPal for payments, Google for sign-in and AI, and Meta for Facebook sign-in. We also link to WhatsApp and our social media accounts. Those services have their own terms, and we're not responsible for them or for any other site we link to.

We'd love the site to be available every minute of the year, but we can't promise that. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, including features and destination content, and our AI providers may have outages that stop itineraries from generating. If we ever shut down the service for good, we'll give registered users reasonable notice so they can download their itineraries.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that itineraries will be accurate, complete, up to date or suitable for your trip. Some countries don't allow certain warranties to be excluded, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Srilankan Guide is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost bookings, missed flights, ruined plans, wasted costs, injury, loss or damage arising from your trip or your reliance on an AI-generated itinerary.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the itinerary in question, or $5 USD, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't be excluded by law, such as for fraud.

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service or puts other users at risk. If we close your account, you can ask us for a copy of the itineraries you've paid for.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms. If we make significant changes, we'll let registered users know by email or with a notice on the site.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you're a consumer somewhere else, you may still have the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to put things right.
