Devon Falls is the slender, aristocratic half of tea country's most famous waterfall pairing: while St. Clair's thunders broad and low a few kilometres east, Devon drops 97 metres in three poised tiers down a cliff wreathed in tea bushes, named for the pioneering coffee planter whose estate once surrounded it. The classic view is from the A7 highway's dedicated viewpoint near the 20th mile post - falls, tea terraces, and often the Colombo–Badulla train threading the slope in a single frame - and a short path drops to quieter platforms when the roadside café crowds thicken. Devon performs best when the west monsoon feeds it (roughly June–September, and after any good rain), dwindling to a silver thread in dry spells. Together with St. Clair's and a factory tour at a surrounding estate, it anchors the essential Talawakele waterfall stop on any Kandy–Nuwara Eliya journey.
