About Hiriketiya

Hiriketiya is a small, crescent-shaped bay south of Mirissa, backed by a handful of guesthouses and seafood shacks, with pristine sand and crystal water. It's one of the most undeveloped beaches in the south - no resort chains, no plastic loungers, no noise. Perfect for couples or solo travellers seeking tranquility. The bay is protected from swell, making it calm and swimmable year-round (unlike rougher nearby breaks). At high tide the beach nearly disappears, which is part of its charm - you really have to commit to the experience. The village vibe is authentic: local fishermen, simple restaurants serving yesterday's catch, and travellers who have stumbled upon it and decided to stay longer than planned.
