Ramboda Falls is the roadside showstopper of the A5, the tea-country highway that hairpins up the Ramboda Pass between Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. Fed by the Panna Oya, the falls descend 109 metres in three tiers - an upper fall visible from the pass, the main plunge, and a lower cascade beside the highway - making Ramboda one of the tallest waterfalls in the country and among the easiest to see. A short, steepish path from the Ramboda Falls Hotel leads to the mid-level plunge pool, where the spray drifts over ferns and wild ginger; the upper fall can be reached by a longer scramble. All around, the slopes are wall-to-wall tea, and the famous Bluefield and Damro estates with their factory tours and view cafes are minutes up the road - a natural pairing on any Kandy–Nuwara Eliya transfer.
